Hulen Dental is an in-network provider with:
-
Cigna, which offers three slightly different plans called Cigna Dental Preventive, Cigna Dental 1000 and Cigna Dental 1500
-
Aetna, offering Network Only Dental Plans or Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO®), Network Option Dental Plans or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Dental Indemnity Plan and Hybrid Dental Plans
-
United Concordia, which offers three traditional plans including Concordia Preferred (PPO), Concordia Flex (PPO) and Concordia Plus (DHMO)
-
Assurant/ Sunlife, offering a Dental HMO Plan
As an in-network provider with these dental insurance carriers, our dentists have negotiated pre-set fees for covered services. This is a contractual arrangement, which means that you’ll never receive a balance bill from our office. Once you’ve satisfied the required deductible for your plan and paid the coinsurance fee at the time of your appointment, you will not be charged anything else for your treatment.
Understanding Your Dental Insurance Plan
Our front office staff is quite familiar with the details of all these plans. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or ask a question the next you’re in the office. We’ll be glad to help.
In the meantime, the following list of common dental insurance terms will be helpful.
Premium. Just like most other insurance plans, dental insurance is provided because you pay a premium, which is a monthly or annual amount you must pay in order to have dental benefits.
Deductible. This is the amount you must pay before your benefits begin to cover the cost of any dental service.
Coinsurance or Copay. This is your out-of-pocket expense that you are responsible for at the time of service.
Maximum. Your dental plan comes with a maximum dollar amount that will be paid toward the cost of dentistry during a specified time period.
Benefit Period. This is the time period within which benefits are applied. The period usually runs through a calendar year.
